RAMSEY, IN: Beulah M. Davis, age 106, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born September 23, 1909 in Stewartsville, Indiana to the late Hugh Edgar and Ada Robb. Preceding her in death were her husband, Jack Davis and a son, Scott Davis. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Miller (Jerol) of Georgetown, IN.; daughter-in-law, Paula Parnell Davis of LaCenter, WA.; grandchildren, Robert Davis of Ft. Worth, TX, Sarah Bibo (Levi) of Vancouver, WA., and Garrett Davis of Dallas, TX.; step-grandchildren, Tim Miller of Georgetown, IN and Cathy Miller of Sellersburg, IN.; Great Grandchildren, Riley and Adaynn Bibo of Vancouver, WA.; Nieces, Patsy Robb Espenlaub and Kay Robb Giles of Posey County, IN. Born premature and weighing only 2 pounds, Beulah began life nursed by an Aunt who carried her around in a laundry basket lined with pillows and hot water bottles. A tea cup fit over her head. Even after this rough start, she quickly became a tomboy, keeping up with her two brothers on a farm in Posey County, Indiana. She had a varied and interesting life. She taught in a one room school near Oliver, Indiana. She lived with Methodist minister, Rev. O.C. Hass' family in Brooklyn, Indiana where she worked as a grocery clerk. She was a clerk and buyer for Belk's Dept. Store in Greenville, N.C. She was a Brownie Scout leader and member of the church choir. Beulah's life spanned 19 different presidents. She saw the beginnings of the motor car, electricity, indoor plumbing, sending a man to the moon, and smart phones. Beulah joined the Army in 1943. She went to Mess Sergeants' school and was stationed at Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and later at Northington General Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL. She married Jack Davis during the war in 1945. When Jack got home from overseas (before Beulah got home from Alabama) they began their wonderful life together in Ramsey, Indiana and had two children, Scott Harvey and Mary Elizabeth. Later, they lived in Benton, Louisiana for 20 years. Beulah spent her life in service to her family. She was a member of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church. "Maybe it's providential" was her byword of life. Always trying to see the good side of people and situations, she worked hard, played hard and placed both difficult and joyous times in God's hands. Living an exceptionally healthy life, she traveled to visit her son and grandchildren up until she was 100 years old. She will long be remembered by her family and many friends, young and old, for her tapioca pudding, Divinity candy and Angel Food Cakes. Special thanks for the loving care from BeeHive Homes of Georgetown, Cookie Lynch, Cedar Court, and Hosparus.
