Obituary for Emma M. Whittaker Heeke
Emma (Whittaker) Heeke, age 91, passed away at her home on October 26, 2019. She was born Emma Margaret Harmon on December 25, 1927 in Depauw Indiana to the late Alvin and Ephrosena (Effie) Grantz Harmon.
Emma was a long standing member of Thompson Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a hairdresser for many years before going to work at the Harrison County Hospital. She retired as dietary manager after 30 years.
She also was preceded in death by her three brothers Lee, Marel (“Bud”), and Paul.
Emma is lovingly remembered by her four children: Diana (Will), Donny (Rita), Brian (Debbie), and Barry (Michelle); 11 grandchildren: Christina, Teri, Dana, Clay, Cleve, Seth, Moriah, Crystal, Candice, Devin, and Brianna; 22 great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 3-8 PM on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Swarens Funeral Home 1405 HWY 64 NW, Ramsey, IN and the following morning starting at 9 AM Thompson Chapel until funeral service at 11 AM.
