Obituary for Marilyn Louise Green Phillips
Marilyn Louise Green Phillips, 86, entered into Eternal Life October 3, 2019.
Married on June 25, 1949 to Douglas Phillips, deceased November 6, 2010. Also predeceased by her sisters Janet Davis, Mary Lou Wildmone, and great grandson Chandler Poppleton among other family members.
Marilyn was born in Milltown, IN, to Edna & Freal Green. Oldest of 5 children.
She was active in her community of Fairdale, KY, working concessions at Nelson Hornbeck pool in the late 60s and helping with some yearly Fairdale Fairs. Marilyn worked at Fairdale High School in the cafeteria 1968-1993, where she made lifetime friends with Marge, Lakey, Betty, Jean, Verda and Naomi to name her most spoken about. She enjoyed traveling all over the USA and Europe with a couple of her lunchroom lady friends and her sister, Sherlie.
Left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her children, Ronald (Leigh Ann), Gary and Debra Phillips; siblings, James (Marlene) Green and Sherlie (Dennis) Hunley; brother in law, Larry Wildmone; daughter in law, Leana Phillips; grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) and Anthony (Rachel) Phillips, Angela Brooks, Suzanne Padgett, and Amy Gabhart. Eight great grandchildren with one on the way and two great great grandsons.
Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Ajmani, medical teams ICU/TCU and 7 west at Suburban Hospital, as well as Hospaurus team, for their constant respect and care for our beloved mom, sister and grandmother.
Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Hospaurus of Louisville.
Funeral 4 PM Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN with burial in Milltown Cemetery.
Visitation after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
