Obituary for Olive Boldt Kerro
NEW SALISBURY, IN: Olive Boldt Kerro, age 98, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014. Olive was born November 20, 1915 at Milltown, Indiana to the late Charles and Essie Breeden Boldt. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University and Master of Science degree from Indiana University. She was an educator in Crawford County and Indianapolis for 43 years. She started her teaching in a one-room school house in Pilot Knob, Indiana. She later took a 2 year sabbatical to work at Fort Knox during World War II. Olive lived life to the fullest and traveled the world. She was known for her sense of humor and generosity. Also, preceding her in death were her husband, Steve Kerro; sister, Wanda Adamson. Surviving are cousins; Wilma Shelton, of New Albany, IN; Gladys Salisbury and Crystal Janaskie of Port Charlotte, Florida; Harry Bye of Clarksville, IN. Funeral 11 A.M. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, Indiana with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana. Visitation 5 - 8 P.M. Thursday and after 9 A.m. Friday at the funeral home. A special thanks and appreciation to Olive's caregivers, who loved and cared for her: Mary Gutknecht, Teresa Francis, Cheri Gray, Dana Moran, Joey Moran and Beth Moran.
